Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai'i, the founder of Haku Lei Spa grew up immersed in the culture of the Hawaiian Islands. The word "Aloha" is the way to say "hello" and "goodbye" in Hawai'i, but it means so much more. Aloha is the way love is expressed in Hawai'i, the special kind of love for all people that can only be found in a humble, honest spirit. Aloha is a way of life, around which the entire culture of the islands of Hawai'i is built. At Haku Lei Spa, our purpose is to bring that culture - the Spirit of Aloha - to you.
All people possess spiritual energy. Some days that energy is powerful, other days that energy may lack strength. In Hawaiian tradition, that energy is called "Mana" and that spiritual energy, that Mana, can be increased or decreased by the things that you do, the people with whom you associate, and even the places you go. At Haku Lei Spa, we've created a place with powerful Mana and filled it with people who build on and contribute to that spiritual energy every day. When you enter our space, you will feel that energy and your Mana will be strengthened.
A "Haku Lei" is a lei worn on the head on special occasions such as birthdays, graduations and weddings. In accordance with centuries old tradition, the Haku Lei is painstakingly and meticulously hand made by braiding fern leaves and weaving flowers and greenery into the fern facing out. All of the materials to make the lei are found in the islands and are of the highest quality. To make a Haku Lei is a time-consuming labor of love. When a loved one presents you with a Haku Lei, you are literally being given a "Crown of Flowers". At Haku Lei Spa, our purpose is more than just beauty and skincare. Our purpose is to joyfully share our life energy - our Mana - and the Spirit of Aloha with you. When you come to Haku Lei Spa, you will feel uplifted, and strengthened because we don't just see your skin, we see your spirit. Come and see us. You will enter as our friend, but you will leave feeling like royalty, feeling like you are wearing a Crown of Flowers.
